Matthew Mott roped in as DC's assistant coach

Delhi Capitals have roped in Matthew Mott as their assistant coach ahead of IPL 2025. A serial winner, Mott has won both the Men's T20 World Cup and the Women's T20 World Cup as a head coach.
He had an incredible record with the Australian Women's team from 2015 to 2022 - a period in which they won the ODI World Cup once and the T20 World Cup twice. Post that stint, he joined the England Men's team as their white-ball coach.
Even though he won the T20 World Cup in 2022, England's poor ODI World Cup title defence in 2023 and their inability to defend the T20 crown in 2024 made him quit his role halfway through his tenure. Following his departure, he signed a three-year contract with Sydney Sixers as their new assistant coach.
Mott will work alongside DC's new head coach Hemang Badani in the upcoming season with the franchise opting for a major overhaul in their coaching set-up. World Cup winner Munaf Patel will be their new bowling coach and former cricketer Venugopal Rao will be the director of cricket.
