Marnus Labuschagne set for short county stint before WTC final

Marnus Labuschagne will return to Glamorgan for a fifth successive season, the county confirmed on Thursday (May 8). The Australian batter will be available for just two Championship fixtures, which will serve as preparation before the WTC final against South Africa in June.
Labuschagne played four fixtures last year in which he hit two centuries and two fifties. This time, he will be playing against Northamptonshire and Middlesex, scheduled to be held at the Sophia Gardens from May 16 and 23 respectively.
In both those games, Labuschagne will feature in place of Colin Ingram as one of the overseas players. Last year, Ingram made the most runs in the second division. "It's great to have Marnus returning to the club again," Director of Cricket Mark Wallace said.
"He's very much part of the furniture here and we're looking forward to welcoming back to Wales for a couple of games. Although it's only for a short period, it will allow Colin to have a break and recharge before the Blast."
Labuschagne, whose Test average has dipped to 46.76 after hovering in the high 50s not too long ago, hasn't hit a Test hundred in nearly two years.
