PSL moved to UAE citing player well-being amid rising Indo-Pak tensions

The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been shifted to the UAE due to prevailing tension between India and Pakistan. The last eight matches - initially slated for Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore - have been relocated.

It all started after the fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings in Rawalpindi on Thursday (May 8) was postponed due to the ongoing border escalations between India and Pakistan. Subsequently, the decision to relocate the tournament was made after deliberations between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the PSL stakeholders.

The PCB is yet to announce the revised schedule, which is expected to be out soon.

Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the decision was "to ensure the mental well-being of all players participating."

"Like in the past, we hope that our stakeholders will rally with us to further the best interests of the tournament, our players and the fans. We are committed to ensuring that the league continues to thrive," he added.
