The Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Thursday (May 15) that they have received green light from the government regarding the upcoming tour of Pakistan as the highest body of the country agreed in principle to give them a go-ahead for the five match T20I series.

"We have got the green signal (from the government) though we are yet to receive the official letter which we are expecting sooner than latter but as far as I know government have taken the decision in principle that they will let us visit Pakistan for the upcoming tour," a BCB official confirmed Cricbuzz on Thursday.

BCB earlier said that they have to obtain government clearance, and subsequently speak with the players before finalizing the upcoming tour of Pakistan. Bangladesh departed for UAE on May 14 to play the two-match T20I series against UAE in Sharjah, scheduled on May 17 and 19.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on May 13 sent a revised itinerary to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the upcoming tour after the Pakistan Super League's schedule was revised following cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

Bangladesh, who were originally scheduled to play five T20Is in Pakistan from May 25 to June 3, are now expected to start their campaign on May 27 while the final T20I will be played on June 5, according to the revised itinerary sent to BCB.

The tour had to be revised considering the fact that the PSL final will held on May 25. According to the proposed draft sent by PCB, the first three matches are scheduled in Faisalabad on May 27, 29 and June 1 while the final two T20Is are scheduled to take place in Lahore on June 3 and 5.

"After getting the official letter from the government we will start talking with our players as we learnt that some of them are reluctant to travel citing security reason," he said. "One thing we can assure is that we won't push anyone."
